(i wrote this entry earlier in the morning, but decided to post it now)

i'm officially on winter break. i'll probably spend the next 40 days doing absolutely nothing productive and think to myself where my winter break went. i feel like that's how i've always spent my winter break. however, this time around, it might be a little different. i'm going to st. louis, missouri for urbana '09 (student missions conference), my family enacted a new christmas rule (no gifts over $30), and this will be the first christmas with candy (the pup my mom adopted). also, i'm strangely looking forward to the new year. i'm seriously considering about writing a hefty list of resolutions. no more lame resolutions, like get good grades, do my quiet time, get fit, etc.

yesterday night, i was talking to a friend about the urbana '09 missions conference, and i'll be brutally honest, i'm not excited. sometimes i start wondering, "why am i even going? i've never even gone on missions before." i went to work camps in kenosha, wisconsin when i was a freshman in high school, but i don't consider that as short term missions. i feel lost in the sauce. i don't really know what urbana is about and what tracks are even offered. i tried doing some "research" (more like googled) about the tracks but i failed miserably because i didn't feel like reading. at least i skimmed the titles? now i don't remember anything!

i'm currently drinking lukewarm coffee out of this cup. this blue cup is ancient. i swear it's been in the family before i was born. maybe even before my brothers were born. it has my mom's old lipstick stains that refuse to wash off, and scratches all over the swans. inside of the cup is no longer white, but instead, it's home to coffee and tea stains. i still like it though.

i was going to write about something else, but i completely forgot.

i downloaded the 20 free christmas tracks on itunes last weekend, and i really like lady antebellum's rendition of "baby, it's cold outside" :) i also bought michael buble's christmas album! i was kind of disappointed that there were only 5 or 6 songs on it, but nonetheless, love the songs.

OH! now i remember what i wanted to write about! i wanted to ask you guys for your opinion! i'm on a low budget this christmas, and i decided that i want to make something crafty this year for my friends. would you rather receive a book markercandle lollipop, or soap as a gift? i know these gifts are kind of girly, so i'm leaning towards the soap. i figured everyone has to clean themselves... right? i don't know. tell me what you think :) thank you.

first all-nighter of the semester.

... and i'm going strong! after working for about 6 straight hours*, i'm just about done. i need to write up my lead-teaching plan, one more lesson plan, and then finish putting my portfolio together!

i'm so hungry, but don't have time to waste! must finish everything in 2 hours, so i can take a quick cat nap. maybe 45 minutes to an hour? although, that could be a dangerous move. i might just knock out and not even wake up to the sound of my alarm... which has happened to me before. we'll see how tired i am. my dad is addicted to those 5 hour energy shots, so he has a giant pack of them in the garage fridge. speaking of my dad drinking those 5 hour energy shots, i don't like that he drinks them.

*at one point, my contacts were really drying up. i thought they were going to shrivel up while still in my eye!
